Quick and easy meatball sub made right in a mug using your microwave. Perfect for busy weeknights when you need a satisfying meal in just 5 minutes. This recipe uses simple ingredients you likely have on hand.
Ingredients
3–4 cooked meatballs (homemade or store-bought)
2–3 tablespoons marinara sauce
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2–3 pieces of crusty Italian bread, torn into chunks
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Red pepper flakes to taste (optional)
1 teaspoon olive oil (optional)
Instructions
1. Choose a large, microwave-safe mug and lightly grease if needed
2. Add 1 tablespoon marinara sauce to the bottom of the mug
3. Layer in half of the torn bread pieces
4. Add 2 meatballs and another tablespoon of sauce
5. Add remaining bread pieces and meatballs
6. Top with remaining sauce and mozzarella cheese
7. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted and meatballs are heated through
8. Let cool for 30 seconds, then garnish with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes if desired
9. Serve immediately with a spoon or fork

Use a mug that’s at least 12 oz capacity to prevent overflow
Toast bread lightly before adding to prevent sogginess
