Description
This cinnamon roll in a mug is buttery, swirled with brown sugar and cinnamon, and topped with a simple vanilla glaze—all made in under 10 minutes!
Ingredients
Dough
1 ½ tablespoons salted butter, melted
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
3 tablespoons milk (preferably whole)
½ teaspoon vanilla
Filling
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Glaze
⅓ cup confectioners’ sugar
1 tablespoon milk (or heavy cream)
Instructions
1. Add the flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, milk, vanilla, and melted butter to a small bowl and stir until combined.
2. Turn dough onto a floured surface and flatten into a rectangle.
3. In a small bowl, melt butter and mix in brown sugar and cinnamon.
4. Spread the filling mixture evenly over the dough rectangle.
5. Roll the dough into a cinnamon roll shape.
6. Place the roll into a greased mug (standard size).
7. Microwave for 90 seconds. Add extra time in 10-second increments if the dough appears wet.
8. Mix glaze ingredients and pour over the warm roll in the mug or after inverting onto a plate.
Notes
Grease your mug well to prevent sticking.
Use whole milk for a richer dough and glaze.
Customize the filling with a drop of maple syrup or espresso for extra flavor.
