Description

A cozy, microwave-ready breakfast that tastes just like apple pie—ready in under 5 minutes using pantry staples.

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/2 medium apple, diced (Fuji, Gala, or Honeycrisp)

3/4 cup milk (or almond/oat milk)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

12 teaspoons brown sugar or maple syrup

Pinch of salt

Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts or raisins

Instructions

1. In a 12-oz microwave-safe mug, combine oats, apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and sweetener.

2. Add milk and stir everything well to combine.

3. Microwave on high for 1 minute 30 seconds.

4. Pause, stir the mixture, then microwave for an additional 30–60 seconds.

5. Let sit for 1–2 minutes to thicken before eating.

6. Optional: Top with Greek yogurt, nut butter, or whipped cream.

Notes

Don’t overfill the mug—leave room for bubbling.

Dice the apples small so they cook quickly.

Use maple syrup for a vegan version.

Overnight option: Mix dry ingredients the night before and refrigerate. Add milk and microwave in the morning.
